If you are interested in leading some sessions (a 2-3 session stint has worked well in the past), please get in touch with Ms Park.
Campus is abuzz with anticipation of Friday’s Sign Up Fair for Take Action Tuesdays. Student leaders from across secondary school are busy envisioning and designing their booths to ensure that they have all the information necessary so that their peers make informed choices about how they are going to TAKE ACTION this year!
Two exciting new Service projects being launched by CAStars in grade 11 and 12…
SaFISHa is welcoming students from grades 6-12 to join them as they support Nipe Fagio in cleaning up Dar es Salaam and gathering data for advocacy about marine and land waste. Community clean ups are a positive step in the right direction!
Symphonies for Change is a music troupe that seeks to make a change through music. They plan to write and perform songs that raise awareness on various social and medical issues we face today and perform at community functions. After developing musical and performance skills, they intend on collaborating with underprivileged children and teaching them how to play different kinds of instruments.
We also have Changels, Babawatoto, the Community Gardeners and writers focused on advocacy through literature joining the programme too!
So many great opportunities for everyone to get involved “collaborative and reciprocal community engagement in response to an authentic need.” (New CAS guide’s definition of Service, 2015).
